A few weeks ago, I discovered the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). Part of the National Institutes of Health, NCCAM is responsible for conducting scientific research on a variety of alternative and complementary medical treatments.
NCCAM offers a free book, Herbs at a Glance: A Quick Guide to Herbal Supplements, which I ordered. It's actually a very nice reference guide, although if you're an alternative medicine proponent, you might not agree with everything that's written. Still, it's nice to add to your library, and you can request a copy even if you don't live in the United States.
